Christmas in Volos 2024: A month full of magic and events
The Municipality of Volos welcomes this year’s Christmas with a rich programme of events starting from 3 December 2024 and lasting until 1 January 2025. The city is transformed into a magical destination with events for all ages and all tastes.

The programme opens with the traditional lighting of the city on Volos beach with Konstantinos Argyros, while the big surprise this year is“Santa’s Toy Factory“, an innovative Christmas theme park with VR technology that will operate daily at Panepistimiou Square.
Agios Nikolaos Square becomes the focal point of the festivities with daily performances, concerts, and traditional events. Special emphasis is placed on tradition with many events dedicated to carols and traditional dances from various regions of Greece.
The city’s theatres host important performances, with the children’s opera “White and Black” and the performance “Von Kurabiess vs Count Melomakaroni” promising to entertain young and old alike. At the same time, the Achilleion Cinema offers a rich programme of screenings.

A special place in the programme is occupied by musical events with the participation of renowned artists such as Michalis Hatzigiannis, Manolis Mitsias, Jenny Vanou, Stavento and Evi Adamou, while the Municipality’s Philharmonic Orchestra sets the festive tone with Christmas melodies in various parts of the city.
The programme culminates with the 7th Volos Santa Run on 30 December and the spectacular New Year’s Eve Concert of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra on 1 January 2025. The charitable dimension of the events is also noteworthy, with initiatives such as the festive meal for fellow citizens and the “Lantern Night” with the proceeds benefiting charitable institutions.
Volos proves once again that it is one of the most attractive Christmas destinations, combining tradition with modern entertainment and culture with charity.
